Fast Machine Learning for Science workshop 2023

The Fast Machine Learning for Science workshop was hosted at Imperial College London, 25-28 September 2023. We heard excellent talks from our keynote speakers from diverse scientific domains on the topics of particle physics, XFEL, biomedicine, accelerator controls, laser wakefield acceleration, nuclear fusion, exoplanets, and medical imaging. On the computer science and technology side we covered ML hardware co-design, Large Language Model acceleration, and in-network ML as well as tutorials on some key ML acceleration technologies. Afternoon sessions were dedicated to the 65 contributed talks from our participants. Around the talks we benefited from fruitful discussions, and I think many new connections were made. Multi-disciplinary events such as this are always stimulating thanks to the breadth of experiences and perspectives in attendance.
